1) Demanding Hush Money
  Demanding hush money by blackmailing
  individuals with the threat of releasing
  information about their business or
  organizations’ illegal activities, adultery
  scandals, classified information, etc.
2) Demanding Donations and Contributions
  Demanding individuals for monetary contribution for
  any reason in unreasonable manner.
3) Demanding Participation in Business Deals
  Demanding participation in construction works and
  other deals despite the objection of the project
  planners for forced acceptance of bids and
  construction material supply, etc.
4) Demanding Business Money
  Demanding money for protection or
  “introduction” for businesses within their
  territory.
5) Demanding Protection Money
  Demanding business owners operating in their   
  territory to purchase supplies for daily business,   
  event and party tickets, and bodyguard payment.
6) Demanding Improper Interest Payment
  Operating a loan shark business for profit and
  demanding interest payment that exceeds rates set
  by the Interest Restriction Law.
7) Improper Collection of Debt
  Collecting debt for hire or for promise of receiving
  profit and threatening or resorting to violence or
  paying visits or calling in a way that causes
  nuisance.
8) Demanding Cancellation of Debt and Loans
  Demanding the full or 2 partial cancellation of debts   
  or loans with interest rates or properties and items   
  purchased.
9) Demanding Improper Trade of Bank Drafts and
  Loans

  If the decision makers respond directly, Boryokudan   
  will demand an immediate answer and from the   
  next meeting demand to meet the same   
  representatives every time.
10) Demanding from Improper Financial
   Transactions

  Demanding from stock brokers, consultants, fund   
  managers, and other financial companies,   
  transactions for the benefit of specific financial   
  companies or at favorable rates despite their   
  objection.
11) Demanding Improper Stock Transactions
  Forcing the sale or purchase of a company’s own   
  stock options to the company’s CEO, managers,   
  auditors, etc. despite their objections.
12) Forcing Acceptance of Savings and Deposits
  Forcing banks and other institutions to accept   
  savings and deposits despite their objection.
13) Forcing land sales
  Forcing legal land and property owners to sell or give   
  up their rights contrary to their desires.
14) Demanding payments for land and property
   transfer

  Squatting on land or property or indicating ownership   
  of individuals despite denial of the true owners and   
  demanding payment for the removal of such signs or   
  squatters.
15) Demanding realtors to sell or transfer
   property and land

  Forcing realtors to make property sales, transfers or   
  rent or act as estate agents in substitution despite   
  their objection
16) Demanding the sale of property from
   non-realtors

  Demanding sales or transfer of property from   
  individuals who are not realtors or forcing individuals   
  to rent properties.
17) Forcing construction companies to build
  Forcing a construction company to build despite   
  its objection.
18) Forcing owners of hotels, inns (lodging
   exempt), funeral homes (crematoriums
   exempt), and golf courses to allow its use

  Forcing businesses to become hosts of Boryokudan   
  related activities despite the objection   
  of the owners.
19) Demanding payments in cash and kind by
   getting involved in traffic accidents

  Demanding payment in cash or kind for damages   
  from traffic accidents upon hire from a third person   
  or for the promise of payment.
20) Racketeering
  Demanding damage payments on the basis of a fault   
  in purchased good or services received, or from   
  supposed lossessuffered from purchased   
  stock options.
21) Forcing Approval and Authorization
  Demanding authorization from public and local   
  governments for what does not meet requirements   
  or exemption from adverse disposition despite   
  it being so.
22) Preventing Authorization
  Demanding public and local governments to deny   
  authorization or designating adverse disposition to   
  items that do not meet this category.
23) Demanding participation in public
   administrative works

  Demanding participation of self or others in sales,   
  rental, contracts issued by national and local   
  governments despite not having the right to do so.
24) Demanding entities to be prevented from
   participating in public administrative works

  Demand that certain entities be prevented from   
  participating in sales, rental, contracts issued by   
  national and local governments despite these having   
  a right to participate.
25) Demanding individuals to abstain from
   participation in public administrative works

  Demanding qualified individuals to abstain from   
  bidding in sales, rental, contracts issued by national   
  and local governments or only after accepting   
  certain requirements or specific prices.
26) Demanding selection as the counterpart for
   public administrative works

  Coercing national and local governments against   
  their will to select particular individuals to become   
  counterparts for public works or forcing national and   
  local governments to deny making contracts with   
  certain counterparts.
27) Coercing public administrative works
   contractors

  Excessively demanding national and local   
  governments to direct their contractors for sales,   
  acquisition, lease, contracts, etc. to issue   
  subcontracts or make purchases and acquisitions of   
  items and building materials.
